1·Traditional methods treat each span segment as a simply-supported beam or clamped-clamped beam in practice.

2·From numerical example, the effect of shear deformation and rotatory inertia on the natural frequencies of the Timoshenko clamped beam is discussed under different slender conditions.

3·An experimental study of the nonlinear dynamic response of a clamped sliding buckled beam under a harmonic axial load is presented.
