1·By analysis of the morphological process in longitudinal profile, cross section and river pattern, the law of river course evolution at Yellow river estuary was summarized.

2·This paper introduces an application method and procedure of CAD technology in river cross-section design, with software and hardware platform.

3·In calculation models of cutting volume for dredging project, the cross section is usually a special one through survey points, and the curve of the river bed is assumed to be a line or a polyline.

4·The flood combination of Dongting Lake′s outflow and Yangtze River main stream′s inflow affect heavily the water level of Chenglingji cross-section.

5·The model is applied to forecast the variation process of main stream direction, cross section and channel slope of a conceptualized curved river under the erosion of clear water.

6·In Guanling county, Guizhou province, an investigation and sampling to different landforms and cross section of land usage types was conducted on the drainage basin in Shiban Bridge River.
